About the Nursery ...
The two hectare site was purchased in 1968 by A Emmings & Son, as a wholesale Market Garden.
The partnership of Hookley Herbaceous came into being in 1994, as a wholesale Nursery with the aim of supplying the Garden Centre Trade, mainly in the South-Eastern region of the country.
Hookley Herbaceous specialises in the production of quality Herbaceous Perennials, recently extending to Hardy Ferns and Grasses.
We offer pre-pricing and bar coding to all our existing, and new customers
What we grow ...
2 litre herbaceous is our main crop line, supplemented with one litre and three litre sizes of particular varieties. We are now introducing a limited range of seven-and-a-half litre Patio Planters, where stock levels allow.
We also produce ten varieties of Strawberries in nine centimetre pots, and four varieties of Rhubarb in four litre pots.
Approximately 40 types of young vegetable plants are grown over a six month period, with 20 types in production during the peak period of May. These are grown in either strip trays, or half packs (like double-sixes for bedding).
How to find us ...
From the A3 exit at the junction signposted for Milford. At the roundabout follow signs for Farnham (the B3001). Elstead is the first village you come to. As you enter the village take the first left (by the bus shelter) then sharp left again. This is Hookley Lane. Follow the road for approximately half a mile. Look on the right hand side for a house named 'Highfield'. Hookley Herbaceous is situated behind the house.
