With The Woking Area Nurseries

In 1979 a number of nursery stock producers in the Woking area decided to band together and collectively promote the diverse range of plants they grew. Since then the WOKING NURSERY EXHIBITION has expanded enormously to become Britain’s biggest specialist ‘PLANTS ONLY’ NURSERY TRADE SHOW, and one of the major events of the horticultural year.

The 22 members of the Woking Group now invite other growers from the southern half of the country to join them at their Show, and there are currently some 83 nurseries exhibiting each year at the attractive site in the grounds of Guildford College, Merrist Wood Campus, Worplesdon, Guildford.

Each year trade buyers have a unique opportunity to see the latest varieties of a huge range of stock from alpines and aquatics to perennials, shrubs, conifers and climbers, and on up to the largest trees. These are almost all British grown from some of the country’s largest producers down to the smaller specialist, and can be seen without the clutter of sundries normally seen at National shows.

As this Show is still organised by the members of the Woking group of nurseries, it retains a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with the same spirit of co-operation and enthusiasm that has been there from the beginning. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the people you usually only talk to on the phone, or discover a potential new source of supply.

The 29th Show is on the 9th JULY 2008, and it is held on the second Wednesday of July annually. Entry and car parking are FREE to all members of the trade. There is a full bar provided by local brewery Hogs Back, which features some if its fine ales, and excellent buffet catering facilities, both are sited in a dedicated refreshment marquee. Why not come along and take advantage of the refreshments to make the day at Woking Nursery Exhibition even more enjoyable.
